Charleston inshore notes
SCDNR's Summer Inshore Fishing names spotted seatrout, red drum, black drum, flounders, whiting, Spanish and king mackerel, sheepshead, and crevalle jack among the summer inshore species.
SCDNR says summer fishing is better at dusk and dawn, and identifies running tidal currents around oyster bars, rocks, and pilings as productive structure for spotted seatrout.
SCDNR's 2025 Seatrout Species Snapshot says anglers may keep up to 10 seatrout per person per day with a 14-inch minimum total length; verify the current guide before fishing.
